Starting a clothing brand is really hard.
Especially when the brand is such a personal extension of who you are.
When I started Too Tomboy, I truly had no idea what I was getting myself into. Fashion is a tough industry and definitely requires thick skin. Luckily, years of competitive sports prepared me a bit for that. Being coached at a high level taught me how to handle criticism, pressure, and disappointment while continuing to push forward.
So I wanted to give a little update on where the brand is currently at.
As we’ve grown, I’ve learned a lot about the production side of building a brand. Our original manufacturer played a huge role in bringing our first collection to life and I’m incredibly grateful for that. From the beginning, I always wanted Too Tomboy to prioritize high-quality materials, sustainability, and fair production but I also always wanted it to feel accessible to the community we’re building. Finding the balance between creating pieces that are made well and keeping them at a price point that feels attainable has honestly been one of the biggest learning experiences so far, and I’m actively working toward being able to do both.
So we’re officially entering a new chapter.
We’re now working with a new manufacturing partner in New York City and while I’m away in Europe this June for my wedding, they’ll be developing samples for the next evolution of Too Tomboy.
The goal is to use that remaining fabric to create a refreshed Too Tomboy 2.0, same foundation and identity, just stronger, more refined, and more aligned with the original vision.
I’m really excited for what’s ahead.
One thing I want this brand to always be rooted in is transparency, so thank you for following along while I figure this all out in real time.
This is only the beginning.
The tomboy takeover is just getting started.
